Overall Job Purpose

Responsible for assisting the Materials and Logistics Coordinator in managing all materials in the warehouse. Ensuring material records are current and handle daily inventory management and logistics functions within a computerized distribution operations environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • • Assist in managing inventory levels of materials or products, as well as control the movement of company owned materials.
  • • Maintain the company’s assets, stores and inventory management system and ensure these systems are fully operational at all times.
  • • Assists in conducting 6-monthly stock and inventory checks.
  • • Maintain a register for all materials received at the warehouse(s) by sea, air and road, as well as those being exported.
  • • Provide safekeeping of inventory in the warehouse by implementing or adhering to the strictest security policies and procedures.
  • • Clearly labelling all materials in stock and store at their appropriate designations.
  • • Ensure all registers are kept to date for accountability during the auditing process.
  • • Maintain safe/proper housekeeping of outside/inside storage areas and materials to ensure all warehouse and base consumable materials are controlled and available.
  • • Ensure Preservation Maintenance of stored spares is implemented and maintained in line with OEM preservation guidelines and as per instructions from the MPSG QC personnel.
  • • Establish and maintain designated work areas and arrange as needed; ensure orderly and safe conditions at all times.
  • • Monitor and provide for the quality control of the product in line with the purchase order QC requirements and delivery date deadlines necessary for each contract / project
  • • Picking and proper packing of orders and goods for dispatch
  • • Taking delivery of goods and supplies and checking for damaged, short supplied or over-supplied items.

Educational Qualification:

  • • Minimum of HND and or degree Equivalent in Logistics or Ports and Shipping Management and / or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics and/or materials and inventory management.

Relevant Experience:

  • • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Materials Management.
  • • Experience Handling Dangerous Goods.
  • • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is a must.
  • • Experience and knowledge of systems for procurement and stock related movements including knowledge of procurement and inventory management systems is beneficial.
