Carries out operation and maintenance activities of the Facility’s Engine room, associated equipment and vessel utilities with minimal environmental impact in accordance with statutory, class and flag regulations together with the Safety/ Facility Management Systems (and assists topsides Mechanical Technician as/ when required).

  • Must be quality-conscious and deliver technically sound results without incident.
  • Carries out operational and maintenance activities which will include but are not limited to repair/ overhaul work, shutdowns, isolations and planned maintenance.
  • Maintains current knowledge of the Facility’s plant and machinery their safe operation and maintenance and will ensure knowledge of safety requirements including work permit systems, operational and emergency procedures, company policy and instructions.
  • Ensures that all information entered in logs, reports, maintenance records and Maximo is accurate and conforms to the Safety/Facility Management Systems.
  • Ensures all boiler systems are well maintained in terms of internal boiler water quality meeting vendors' required specifications.
  • Opens the daily Work Permit related to Mechanical activities.
  • Participates in the maintenance activities realised by external vendors on-site related to the Engine Room department during their major visits for interventions under the supervision of the Engine Room Supervisor.
  • Executes planned preventive and corrective maintenance routines as scheduled.
  • Operates and handles steam generation both from the main boiler and or deck-mounted boiler as required.
  • Ensures the Engine Room Mechanical workshop is in clean condition, all Workshop machines are in good order and clean, and tools are well arranged in dedicated place.
  • Prepares the timesheet and reports to his/her supervisor.

Qualification and Experience

  • BSc Marine Engineering
  • Marine Engine Room valid STCW certificates. A certificate for welding abilities will be an advantage.
  • 5-7 years of offshore oil and gas or relevant industry experience
  • Experienced as Mechanic/ Fitter with knowledge of tanker systems and Engine Room operations.
  • Fitter on the sailing vessel is a preferred advantage.
  • Experienced in general lathe machine operations and skills with welding equipment and welding knowledge.
  • Experienced in the operation and maintenance of process equipment preferred.
